The Crayon Line again?
Yes, I thought that you would like to see the Eastern part. We left it off last time at Goodge Street. We still have some ground to cover?
And this is For illustrative purposes again?
Yes, for those. This “proposal” shows you how you could – if you had the cash – join up sections of Central London that are without a tube. From the heatmap.
So. Show me this section of line on the heatmap!
Ok. Here you are:
More of the same then?
Yes, about two thirds of the stations are “new” in the heat maps cold zones, and a third link up with existing lines. It is fascinating that there are places so central, but so far from stations, don’t you think?
I see you have created a new station on the Circle line…
Yes, Mount Pleasant would be a station on the Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines. As well as on the new line.
What might you do to make this better?
The question might be about where to end the line. It could always take over a branch line, perhaps.
How much would it cost?
16km @ £100m per km = £1600m
8 stations @ £250m = £2000m (not double-counting Goodge Street)
total = £3600m
